Disabling Content Item Staging
Content item staging is enabled by default and you are recommended to use it. There are, however, some situations in which you may need to disable it. Some of the Content Engine plug-ins, for example, have content item types for which staging must be disabled.
You can disable/enable staging in 3 different ways:
- Global
-
To disable content item staging completely, add
articleStaging=false
toServerConfig.properties
in one of your configuration layers. This sets the system propertycom.escenic.article.staging
tofalse
. - Per publication
-
To disable content item staging for a specific publication, set the publication feature
com.escenic.article.staging
tofalse
(see feature). If staging is globally disabled, then you can enable it for a specific publication by settingcom.escenic.article.staging
totrue
instead. - Per content type
-
To disable content item staging for a specific content type, add a
parameter
element (seeparameter
) to the content type definition in thecontent-type
resource. Theparameter
element must have the namecom.escenic.article.staging
and the valuefalse
. If staging is globally disabled, then you can enable it for a specific content type by settingcom.escenic.article.staging
totrue
instead.
