Installing on Windows

The Content Engine is most commonly installed on hosts running Ubuntu Linux, so the detailed installation instructions in this guide are based on a Linux installation. It is, however, also possible to install and run the Content Engine on WIndows-based hosts, and this possibility is of interest to some users. This chapter therefore contains additional guidance that will be of help to administrators installing the Content Engine in Windows environments.

This chapter is by no means a complete installation guide for Windows. If you are installing the Content Engine on Windows, you will need to use the description of the standard Linux installation procedure and "translate" it to your Windows environment. This chapter simply contains some hints and additional advice that will help you with that process.
