Live Blog Entries in a Section Template

To display live blog entries on section pages:

  1. Open or create the section template you want to use for live blogs.

  2. Create a Teaser widget and configure it with a query that retrieves Event content items.

  3. Configure the Teaser widget to display the general fields of the Event (Title, Description and so on).

  4. Create a Live Entries view and configure it to display event entries as required. The basic process of configuring a Live Entries view is similar to configuring a Teaser widget or view: you select which entry fields you want to include, and specify how they are to be formatted. You can also configure the number of entries to be initially displayed. For the details of how to configure a Live Entries view, see Live Entries view.

  5. Drag the Live Entries view into the Teaser widget's Related live entries view drop zone (on its Default tab)

  6. Drop the Teaser widget in the required position on the section template.

  7. Publish all the components you have edited: the Live Entries view, the Teaser widget and the section template.

You can replace the Teaser widget in the above procedure with a Teaser view. In this case, however, a fourth component is required, since a Teaser view, like a Live Entries has no back end for retrieving content items. The Teaser view must itself be dropped in the Related view field of another widget, and it is this owning widget that is placed in the section template. For details, see Teaser view.
